Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula honors Dr. Sharon Wesley with Physician Recognition award

MONTEREY, CA. — Sharon Wesley, MD, a Community Hospital family medicine doctor, was honored with the 2023 Physician Recognition award by her medical staff peers in recognition of her lifetime achievement in outstanding clinical care and service to the hospital, medical staff, and community.

Wesley has compassionately cared for Community Hospital patients for 21 years and is well-known and respected for practicing excellence in everything she does. She has demonstrated admirable leadership throughout her career at Community Hospital, having served on and chaired a multitude of committees and departments focused on improving patient care including Montage Health’s Board of Trustees, Patient Safety and Quality committee, Professional Quality committee, and DEI council where she was an inaugural member.

Wesley graduated from medical school in 1980 from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, completed an internship at Baylor College of Medicine in Texas, and did residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. In addition to helping her patients reach optimal health, Wesley enjoys volunteering, serving on the board of directors for Meals on Wheels of the Monterey Peninsula and Monterey Jazz Festival, being a dog mom to her three pups Winston, Liam, and Hamish, and spending time with her 101-year-old father.
